Upload files to your hosting account using FTP (File Transfer Protocol) for better control and faster uploads.

FTP Connection Details

Get these from your welcome email or cPanel:
FTP Server: yourdomain.com or ftp.yourdomain.com
Username: Your cPanel username
Password: Your cPanel password
Port: 21 (FTP) or 22 (SFTP)

  • FileZilla - Free, cross-platform
  • WinSCP - Windows, supports SFTP
  • Cyberduck - Mac and Windows
  • Core FTP - Windows

Setting Up FileZilla

1. Download and install FileZilla
2. Open FileZilla
3. Go to File > Site Manager
4. Click "New Site"
5. Enter connection details
6. Set Protocol to "SFTP" (more secure)
7. Click "Connect"

Uploading Files

1. Navigate to local files (left panel)
2. Navigate to server location (right panel)
3. Drag files from left to right
4. Or right-click and select "Upload"
